About the role

Join our team at St. Louis Children's Hospital to make a direct impact on patient care and operations. Full Time - 40 Hours Per Week, M-F, Every 5th weekend (7am-1pm)Day Shift: Rotating Schedule6am-230pm, 7am-330pm, 930am-6pmPerks Benefits EligibleLocation: St. Louis Children's Hospital (this position may float to other lab locations)

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens.
• Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required.
• Documents patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiates corrective action.
• Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
• Maintains quality control performance and corrects any problems and/or reports any problems to the appropriate department.
• Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
• Trains new personnel in methods, procedures, and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.

Requirements

Minimum Requirement: Associate's degree in a physical, life science, or related field

ASCP or equivalent

Qualifications

Role Purpose: The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) II (REG) performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required. Demonstrates good laboratory practice
