Lab Tech MLT II

Job Requirements

Position Summary: MLT will be able to perform routine clinical laboratory tests done in hematology, chemistry and coagulation. Must follow established standards and practices, performs various quantitative and qualitative clinical laboratory studies to comply with physician requests. Duties include analysis of various blood, body fluids and tissues, in order to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Duties

• Analysis of various blood, body fluids and tissues
• Provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease
• Follow established standards and practices
• Perform various quantitative and qualitative clinical laboratory studies
• Understand and comply with the Standards of Behavior and department policies, procedures and regulations
• Troubleshoot moderate chemical, biological and/or low-level radiation exposure
• Moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs) or equivalent effort applied in pushing, pulling, or other job activities
• Work irregular/flexible hours
• Maintain strict confidentiality of work-related information
• Maintain credentials and licensure
• Train and maintain competency on limited procedures in the Highly Infectious Disease Testing

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Associate degree in Laboratory Science
• Experience: 1-3 years' experience in a hospital laboratory
• Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: MLT registry through ASCP
