Mixing Operator, 2nd shift

Summary

To safely and efficiently perform Mixing/Milling operations utilizing multiple mechanical equipment to pre-form high consistency silicone rubber to desired customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all safety equipment is readily available and that all guards are in place.
• Read batch cards/electronic device for directions, such as proper amounts, temperature controls, weights and sequences of extrusion, and any other additional instructions.
• Operate (safely) multiple Mixers/Mills and related equipment.
• Update and maintain production records on batches extruded.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner, especially during shift transition.
• Learn and understand basic customer requirements and the equipment and materials used in extrusion, packaging, and finishing.
• Receive and relay vital communications with co-workers concerning daily production strategies.
• Carry out any other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Able to read and follow production instructions
• Able to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately
• Demonstrated basic writing skills necessary to complete daily production records
• Demonstrated basic verbal communication skills necessary to transfer or interpret the explanation of problems and to receive and understand work assignments
• Able to read, understand, and speak English
• Able to work independently and multi-task
• Able to pass pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) and a criminal background check

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility
• Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing is required
• Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required
• Occasional lifting, moving up to 50 lbs., and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations)
