Mixing Operator, 2nd shift
Summary
To safely and efficiently perform Mixing/Milling operations utilizing multiple mechanical equipment to pre-form high consistency silicone rubber to desired customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all safety equipment is readily available and that all guards are in place.
- Read batch cards/electronic device for directions, such as proper amounts, temperature controls, weights and sequences of extrusion, and any other additional instructions.
- Operate (safely) multiple Mixers/Mills and related equipment.
- Update and maintain production records on batches extruded.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner, especially during shift transition.
- Learn and understand basic customer requirements and the equipment and materials used in extrusion, packaging, and finishing.
- Receive and relay vital communications with co-workers concerning daily production strategies.
- Carry out any other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to read and follow production instructions
- Able to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately
- Demonstrated basic writing skills necessary to complete daily production records
- Demonstrated basic verbal communication skills necessary to transfer or interpret the explanation of problems and to receive and understand work assignments
- Able to read, understand, and speak English
- Able to work independently and multi-task
- Able to pass pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) and a criminal background check
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility
- Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing is required
- Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required
- Occasional lifting, moving up to 50 lbs., and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations)
