Mixer 2 Operator Night Shift
About the role
Mixer 2 is an advanced level position responsible for ensuring hydrocolloid adhesive manufacturing (Mixing room process), serving as a leader in the absence of the Lead, and complying with company policy and customer specifications. Reports directly to the Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Support as leader in the absence of the Lead.
- Ensure Mixer 1 is properly trained to function with minimal supervision.
- Participate in daily production call-meetings.
- Accurately complete all relevant logs and mixing paperwork (e.g., Cleaning log, safety guarding daily checklist, daily weight check verification, formulation sheets).
- Clean airlocks, floors, and areas around machine surfaces, bins, and other areas of the Mixing room as assigned by the Supervisor and following cleaning instructions.
- Respond to mix requirements to support cleanroom operations and schedule.
- Ensure Mixing Room areas, tools, and equipment remain clean according to specifications.
- Notify the Production Supervisor and team members if anything deviates from specifications.
- Interface with Cleanroom and Warehouse counterparts to ensure all pertinent information is transferred among departments.
- Utilize the Epicor system as required (e.g., Material Issue and Return, receive to stock, print pick list, log in/out labor, enter quantity produced and scrap on operations).
- Utilize the IQS system to confirm appropriate documentation and initiate changes of documents through the system as necessary.
- Receive and return material from the warehouse.
- Conform to all Safety, Quality, and Standards Operating Procedures.
- Move, push/pull raw materials, carts, equipment, and containers.
- Interact and communicate with the Technical Department regarding any maintenance requests.
- Work with cross-functional teams on development or improvement of SOP, test specifications, and manufacturing projects assigned by the Production Supervisor.
- Clean raw materials cart and wheels with alcohol and verify raw materials labels (part number, expiration date, etc.) before entering the Mixing Room department.
- Verify raw material information against expiration dates stated on the job and labels before weighing.
- Utilize safety equipment for the job, including raw materials lifter to add raw materials.
- Utilize the scale and printer to ensure the correct amount of raw materials is in accordance with the Formulation sheets.
- Operate and clean mixing machines as required by specifications.
- Cut silicone paper using the roll stand with the cutter.
- Remove the mix from machines to trays and spread it over the entire tray using coating spatulas.
- Pull mix bars from trays and load into mix carts.
- Clean mixing carts and wheels with alcohol before entering Mixing Room or Clean Room departments.
- Provide flexibility to cover and/or interchange between day and night shifts as needed by the company (including but not limited to covering leaves of absence, vacation, or position vacancies).
Secondary Responsibilities
- Support Z-Fold process in accordance with the job traveler.
- Support Clean Room packaging process according to specifications.
- Support Mixing Room according to specifications.
- Support Print Department process according to specifications.
- Support other departments as assigned.

Essential Experience
- 1-year hands-on experience in a production environment.
- Experience operating manufacturing machines.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
- Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in training.
- Physically capable of performing tasks associated with the responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to work on an elevated platform or surface.
- Ability to talk, see, and hear.
- Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Desirable Qualifications
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a production environment.
- Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office Suite.
- 1–2 years of experience operating mixer machines.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, electronics, and other light industrial equipment. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Tasks are performed inside a cleanroom, requiring adherence to cleanroom work instructions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Lifting equipment is provided for certain tasks, as is eye, ear, and toe protection. The employee must frequently push or pull material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and/or material carts carrying loads in excess of 1,800 lbs.
Pay
The rate of pay is $24.84 per hour.
