About the role
Los Lunas Animal Clinic is a trusted veterinary resource throughout central New Mexico, offering a diverse caseload that allows veterinarians to maintain and grow their skills across multiple species while building meaningful relationships with clients and their animals.
Responsibilities
- Companion Animal Medicine: Wellness and preventive care, puppy and kitten care, senior pet medicine, internal medicine, urgent care appointments, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, in-house laboratory diagnostics, urgent care and same-day appointments, herd health management, reproductive services, medical and surgical cases, client education and consultation.
- Equine Medicine & Surgery: Wellness and preventative care, lameness evaluations, equine diagnostics, equine dentistry, reproductive services, emergency and urgent care cases, surgical procedures supported by a dedicated equine surgery suite, collaborative case management with experienced team members.
- Livestock & Production Animal Medicine: Herd health management, preventive care and vaccination programs, regulatory testing, reproductive services, medical and surgical cases, client education and consultation.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) degree from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine (or equivalent certification for international graduates)
- Active New Mexico veterinary license in good standing, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date
- Successful completion of the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE)
- Commitment to practicing high-quality veterinary medicine
- Strong communication and client relationship-building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a veterinary healthcare team
- Passion for patient care, client service, and professional development
Qualifications

- Preferred: Experience in mixed animal, companion animal, large animal, or equine medicine; interest in surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and preventive care; experience managing urgent care and same-day cases; interest in livestock production medicine or herd health management; desire to contribute to a positive hospital culture and collaborative work environment.

Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:30pm
Saturday: 8:00am-12:00pm
Sunday: Closed

Pay
Salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
