Overview
Barnes & Noble College is seeking a part-time Operations Supervisor to work varying or set schedules on a weekly basis year round. The Supervisor will assist the management team, oversee team members, and provide outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Coach and model exceptional customer service on the sales floor.
- Train and oversee team members in one or more departments.
- Provide daily support, direction, and guidance to customers and team members.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints, escalating problems to management when necessary.
- Aid in the daily operation of the store, assisting with assignments and direction to team members.
- Process sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments as needed.
- Perform routine housekeeping tasks such as dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, and trash removal.
Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Basic reading, writing, and accounting skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
