About the role
Be our next Missouri Transportation Leader for our St. Louis office to work within the Infrastructure/Transportation business practice. The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Transportation Practice Leader with a focus on roadway, bridge, water, and railway-related projects. The Missouri Transportation Leader will provide leadership for the successful delivery of projects and grow the transportation practice within the St. Louis office to service the eastern half of Missouri as well as the southern Illinois marketplace.
This is a seller-doer role that requires someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated success in delivering quality solutions that meet client needs and exceed their expectations.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the successful delivery of transportation projects of varying size and complexity.
- Work with transportation team members from other offices to build diverse project teams.
- Recruit, train, develop, and retain local transportation staff to successfully deliver projects.
- Negotiate and manage budgets and help ensure financial performance objectives are achieved for each project.
- Build and maintain client relationships, develop new clients, and win work for the Infrastructure/Transportation Practice.
- Supervise and direct staff engineers and technicians to meet project deadlines as well as scope and budget requirements.
- Work with the leadership team within the Infrastructure/Transportation Practice, as well as across EXP’s Practice Groups, to develop and carry out our mission.
- Represent EXP through professional association membership and participation at industry events.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressively responsible relevant experience.
- BS in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed PE in the State of Missouri; a PE License in Illinois would be desirable but not required.
- Proven record of client relationship development and maintenance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians.
- Strong leadership, project management skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to recruit, grow, and mentor staff.
- Demonstrated industry participation and network.
