About the Role
Young Life at YL Parkway is seeking a current teacher to lead their WyldLife team. This part-time position requires 10 hours per week and is open only to local candidates with prior Young Life experience.
Responsibilities
- Spiritual Development: Create and follow a yearly personal growth plan that includes prayer, spiritual disciplines, fellowship, and active participation in a church community. Lead teams and individuals in spiritual growth.
- Leadership Development:
- Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
- Recruit and train new leaders to build a team reflective of the community.
- Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
- Assist in training leaders, team leaders, and committee members on effective teamwork and ministry strategy.
- Resource Development:
- Raise financial support and maintain donor care practices.
- Communicate ministry updates to donor partners.
- Network with key community adults (e.g., principals, pastors, parents) as assigned.
- Assist with camp fundraisers.
- Direct Ministry:
- Engage in all three levels of contact work.
- Lead a team to plan and conduct Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry.
- Implement summer and school-season camping strategies.
- Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp annually.
- Ministry Support:
- Adhere to Young Life policies, maintaining professionalism in conduct, office hours, and time management.
- Manage finances with stewardship and transparency using mission-wide applications.
- Maintain accurate records of kids, leaders, and donors.
- Provide clear, prompt, and professional communication to all involved in ministry.
- Develop and review a yearly strategic ministry plan to reach every kid.
- Perform other duties as assigned, aligned with gifts, experience, and area needs.
Training
- Missionwide Training: Optional events (e.g., New Staff Training, Winter Training, Focus Conferences) available upon regional director approval.
- Regional Training: No mandatory curriculum; regional training may be required at the regional director’s discretion.
- Area Training:
- Engage in training provided by area leadership.
- Participate in individualized training to develop spiritual maturity and ministry skills (e.g., The 5 C’s).
- Learn area strategy, ministry health, and personal fundraising principles.
Qualifications
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- College degree preferred.
Schedule
Part-time, 10 hours per week.
