About the role
The Mission Control Supervisor collaborates with campus leadership to optimize throughput. They support quality and performance criteria and metrics for departmental and organizational specific initiatives. They mediate clinical issues related to throughput and ensure adherence to regulatory and professional standards. They maintain processes to avoid EMTALA or state access violations.
Responsibilities
- Engages with employees in a professional and coaching manner to ensure productivity standards are met and understood.
- Maintains appropriate daily staffing levels by monitoring workflow, overtime, and schedules.
- Prepares reports to inform operational management team members, physician leaders, and administrative team of patient activity.
- Safeguards outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with patients, staff, and external partners.
- Manages capacity and bed utilization to ensure efficient and effective patient flow within the healthcare system.
- Captures admissions and transfers between nursing units, hospitals, Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, and direct admissions from physicians.
- Acts as a liaison between patient placement, transfer center, and dispatch teams on all issues pertaining to patient flow.
- Solves patient flow issues as they arise and escalates barriers when necessary.
Requirements

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with hospital operations and patient flow management.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and standards.
