Mission Control Coordinator (administrative support)
About the role
The Mission Control Coordinator serves as the central hub of Grand Traverse Industries' Client Services team. As the welcoming first point of contact for families, individuals served, staff, and community members, this position plays a vital role in creating a positive experience for everyone who interacts with GTI.
This role helps keep daily operations on track by managing details, solving problems, and providing exceptional customer service. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the Mission Control Coordinator serves as a flexible team member who is willing to step in and provide support to programs and services when needed, helping ensure continuity of services and a positive experience for those we serve.
Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, a welcoming personality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate enjoys helping others, thrives on keeping things organized, and takes pride in being the person who helps connect all the moving pieces together.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones and greet visitors
- Schedule and coordinate appointments
- Conduct fingerprinting services
- Support billing and vehicle check-out processes
- Maintain records and perform data entry
- Ensure important information flows smoothly throughout the organization
- Provide support to programs and services as needed to ensure continuity of services
Requirements
- High school diploma or above and must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Pass a background check
- Full range of motion, including sitting, stooping, bending, and standing for up to 8 hours
- Physical strength to lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to achieve and maintain required training and certifications
- Moderate computer usage and knowledge
- Adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Skills
- Moderate computer knowledge in Microsoft Programs (e.g., Office, Great Plains, Teams, SharePoint)
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
- Strong organizational and time management skills without supervision
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to treat people with kindness, compassion, and respect (Gentle Teaching philosophy)
- Flexibility and ability to handle change well
- Good attendance record
- Proficiency with office equipment such as computers, copiers, printers, and fax machines

Pay
Starting pay: $17.13–$20.00/hour
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm) with paid lunch breaks.
