Misc - Elem Orchestra Part Time - Welby Elementary

About the role

Teach orchestra instruments from beginner level up to intermediate. This includes teaching students how to play the instrument and how to read notes.

Instruments taught

• Violin
• Viola
• String bass
• Percussion

Schedule

• Orchestra students meet before school for 45 minutes.
• Concerts are held at least twice each year (Holiday and Spring).
• An accompanying assembly is held for the host school, with additional assemblies at other schools if that school has a significant percent of orchestra participation or if the school desires it for orchestra recruiting purposes.
• There may be other concerts throughout the year (e.g., hosted by the middle school for recruiting or combined with other elementary school orchestras in the district).

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out concerts in cooperation with any other teachers (band, orchestra, choir, etc.) who may be involved.
