Minutes Clerk (Part-Time)
Position Information
This professional clinical position is in the Client Services Entry Unit/Mental Health Bureau of the Behavioral Healthcare Division (BHD) of the Department of Human Services. This recovery-oriented agency is invested in evidence based practices for the range of behavioral healthcare consumers requiring intensive community based services. This also includes serving Arlington consumers who are hospitalized in state psychiatric facilities. The job functions entail:
- preliminary clinical assessments of all potential clients for BHD services;
- program management and supervision of discharge planners and Transitional Case Manager including participation in regional coordination activities; and
- analysis, research and maintenance of all required records and statistics as they relate to Entry Services, discharge planning, and Transitional Case Management.
Selection Criteria
Minimum: Master's degree in a clinical discipline such as Counseling, Psychiatric Social Work, Psychology, Art Therapy, Psychiatric Nursing, or other directly related clinical discipline which required a clinical practicum involving diagnostic and treatment services, plus three years post Master's degree experience providing clinical therapy and other mental health services, which included the application of diagnostic and treatment services.
- Directly-related higher level clinical degrees may substitute for the Master's degree education requirement and one year of experience. In the case of this substitution, qualifying work experience must have been gained after the acquisition of the directly related higher level clinical degree.
Desirables
- Experience with seriously mentally ill adults as well as dually diagnosed adults (MH/SA)
- Experience in community-based mental health programs
- Experience in discharge planning for psychiatric patients
- Clinical supervisory experience
