Part Time Clerk
About the role
The City of Danbury is seeking a Part-time Clerk- Library to provide engaged and friendly customer service at all library public service desks, including Information Services, Junior, and Technology.
Responsibilities
- Using an automated library circulation system to check materials in and out to patrons of all ages.
- Greeting patrons
- Reserving material
- Issuing library cards
- Answering phones and directing calls
- Aiding patrons with locating library material, registering for programs, and utilizing computers, copiers, printers, and self-check systems.
Requirements
- Computer and peripheral skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, copy and fax machines, telephones, printers, and scanners.
- Proficient with basic computer software such as Microsoft Office and Google suite.
- At least one year of customer service experience is required.
- Position requires standing, sitting, and bending for periods of time.
Qualifications
Bilingual English/Spanish/Portuguese preferred.

Schedule
Up to 19 hours per week. Three shifts during the week of either 10 am - 3 pm, or 3 pm - 8 pm, and Saturday from 10-2.
