Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and supervision of the Minnetonka High School Campus facilities and building custodial staff.
- Evaluate and modify the staff goals and operational plans.
- Oversee the daily operation of the building custodial staff, including custodian services, security, energy conservation, and all support functions.
- Regularly visit and inspect each campus building to evaluate the effectiveness of the building staff maintenance and cleaning.
- Recruit, select, staff develop, and evaluate building custodial staff members.
- Work as system administrator for the Minnetonka High School Campus and perform all upgrade functions for District building security camera system, District security access card system, District blue print system, District work order system, and District energy management systems in coordination with the District energy consultant.
- Serve as a member of the District's administrative team and actively participate in the development, implementation, and achievement of the District's strategic plans.
- Implement state and federal regulations and School Board policies related to maintenance of the district buildings.
- Oversee the department budget for custodial maintenance and approve the requisitions for supplies, equipment and materials necessary for the building staff to perform their duties.
- Ensure buildings are staffed for custodial coverage on a daily basis and take action to ensure building cleaning is covered.
- Manage custodial staff and implement the response for all activities that occur on the campus, including but not limited to athletic events, concerts, plays, and parent information events.
- Oversee snow and ice removal from sidewalks, entrances and walkways to ensure a safe campus during winter months.
- Determine individual custodial work schedules and assignments on the Minnetonka High School Campus.
- Develop and oversee responses to immediate requests from building educational personnel.
- Order all necessary materials, supplies and equipment for the custodial staff for the Minnetonka High School Campus.
Job Qualifications
- Experience in management of a public school Buildings and Grounds Department.
- Evidence of successful work experience related to the job responsibilities of the position.
- A Chief Class C boiler operator's license or willingness to obtain as soon as allowed by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.
- Evidence of excellent organizational and human relations skills.
- Evidence of effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Evidence of strong initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
