About the role

The Director of International School at Rain Forest International School (RFIS) is responsible for providing spiritual leadership and vision for the school community. The role involves working under the policy governance model to implement and report compliance on board policies as defined in the RFIS Policy Manual. The Director will lead the Administrative Team and work with the school administrative team to implement board policies and operational policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, promote, and evaluate programs and activities that ensure students and faculty meet academic standards and provide a great working environment
  • Identify and help recruit for staffing needs
  • Promote RFIS for student recruitment
  • Ensure the fiscal health of the school
  • Identify assignments, supervise, and ensure appropriate and timely professional development of all staff, with the support of the Assistant Director and Academic Director
  • Communicate clearly in writing and at public events with staff, parents, students, school board, and community

Requirements

  • A sincere and growing personal faith in Christ and commitment to the great commission
  • Agreement with the school’s statement of faith
  • Ideally, multicultural / cross-cultural experience (ability in French is desirable but not required)
  • At least 5 years of combined experience in teaching and administration, preferably in an international school
  • A Master’s degree in Educational Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Willingness to raise one’s own financial support or self-fund
  • Serving with [or being seconded to] an approved Christian mission organization with a presence in Cameroon for the purpose of member care and accountability

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have an international mindset and multicultural/cross-cultural experience. Fluency in French is desirable but not required.

Skills

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required.
