Minister of Worship

Located in historic downtown Versailles, just 10 miles west of Lexington, Kentucky, we are a multigenerational church affiliated with the Central Kentucky Network of Baptists, the Kentucky Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention.

About the Role

The Minister of Worship serves as the primary leader of the worship ministry at Versailles Baptist Church. This full-time position provides spiritual, musical, and organizational leadership for all corporate worship gatherings while cultivating a Christ-centered culture of worship throughout the church. Working closely with the Senior Pastor and ministry staff, the Minister of Worship plans meaningful worship services, develops volunteers and worship leaders, and helps create worship experiences that glorify God, proclaim the gospel, and engage people of all generations.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual and musical leadership for all corporate worship services.
• Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to plan and evaluate weekly and special worship services.
• Lead and develop the worship band and worship volunteers. (Skills to also lead a worship choir are a plus.)
• Oversee the audio, visual, and production ministries.
• Utilize technology and creative media to support worship services and church communications.
• Support the worship and media needs of the Children’s and Student Ministries.
• Supervise worship ministry staff and contracted musicians.
• Oversee the maintenance and purchase of worship-related equipment, instruments, and technology.
• Develop and manage the worship and media ministry budget.
• Perform other ministry responsibilities as assigned, recognizing that these responsibilities may be adapted based on the selected candidate’s gifts and strengths.

Qualifications

• A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to worship ministry.
• A lifestyle that reflects biblical character and aligns with the mission and values of Versailles Baptist Church.
• Bachelor’s degree in music, worship ministry, or a related field preferred; seminary training is a plus.
• Experience serving as a worship pastor or minister, preferably in a multigenerational church.
• Experience leading both a worship choir and a contemporary worship band.
• Proficiency with worship technology, including presentation software, sound, lighting, and digital media.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to recruit and develop volunteers.
• A passion for leading people in Christ-centered worship.
