Job Summary
DISA is seeking a Technical Services Manager to lead global technical service activities as a technical expert and supervisory mentor. The role involves directing a high-performing team, developing testwork and commissioning plans, and providing technical oversight for mineral processing operations.
About the Role
The Technical Services Manager will serve as DISA's primary technical point of contact, overseeing testwork and commissioning activities, and ensuring deliverables meet DISA's quality standards before client presentation. This position requires direct client engagement and a dynamic start-up environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a Technical Services team
- Manage the allocation of work within the Technical Services team
- Conduct formal performance reviews and establish development goals
- Review and approve work performed by the Technical Services team
- Develop, review, and implement Standard Operating Procedures
- Manage the Technical Services operating budget
- Coordinate with various departments for project delivery and support
- Contribute to proposal development and project scoping
- Lead laboratory testwork and field service activities
- Provide technical oversight and final approval for reports and studies
- Communicate regularly with clients and provide post-deployment support
- Resolve technical challenges and support product improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team development capabilities
- Advanced knowledge of mineral processing operations, flowsheet development, and process optimization
- Demonstrated experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of commercial-scale mineral processing facilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of technical reports and client-facing presentations
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Ability to communicate face-to-face and on the phone with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to interact with people and technology while either standing or sitting
- Valid U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
- 10+ years of relevant experience in mineral processing
- Proven experience designing, managing, and interpreting structured laboratory testwork programs
- Hands-on experience with field commissioning, optimization, and operational support at commercial-scale mineral processing facilities
- Supervisory experience including formal performance management, mentorship, and development of engineering staff
- Experience contributing to technical proposals, project scoping, and commercial pricing support
