Mine Operations Specialist

Job Responsibilities

• Gather information for potential data analytics use cases.
• Analyze and target high-value areas for improvement.
• Assess the business value of and facilitate selections of improvement focus areas.
• Provide data analysis and run economic impact analysis projects.
• Share data analytics with operational teams and facilitate problem solving, root cause analysis, and development of implementation plans.
• Monitor key metrics and/or develop data collection systems to track overall performance.
• Provide liaison between operations and data developers, provide input for modifications of data sources, and resolution of data quality issues.
• Provide site managers with technical support and project management.
• Provide training and support on analytics to others.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in mining.
• Valid driver’s license.

Skills & Abilities

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Etc).
• Proficient in drafting (AutoCAD).
• Knowledgeable in database (Pi, MS SQP Server, Access, Acquire).
• Proficient in AS400 or similar mining database.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong data management skills.

Environmental Conditions, Physical & Lifting Requirements

• Regularly required to use a computer/tablet;
• Rarely required to use a phone/radio;
• Frequently work in an office environment;
• Frequently work underground;
• Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts;
• May be exposed to moderate noise levels;
• Required to wear PPE when underground;
• Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time;
• Occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms;
• Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision;
• Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
