Mine Engineer II

What You Will Do
- Develop mining plans based on all available geological information to support short and/or long-range planning and production goals.
- Participate in Engineering feasibility studies to define proper mining methods, equipment selection, mine site facilities, and manpower and production requirements.
- Absorb and analyze information of considerable difficulty to draw valid conclusions.
- Ensure maximum productivity and extraction rates by optimizing mining methods, procedures, and equipment.
- Assist in the development and management of mine, mine ventilation, waste dumps, and stockpile designs.
- Recommend actions to eliminate potential production problems and improve safety, operational efficiency, control production costs, and protect the environment.
- Work with Geologists in exploration and assist in the Engineering phase of developments and operational activities.
- Monitor mine ventilation and air quality at working sites throughout the mine.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
- Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering or related Engineering discipline and three (3) years of related experience in Engineering, or
- Master's degree in Mine Engineering or related Engineering discipline and two (2) years of related experience in Engineering.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of Mine Engineering.
- Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
- Able to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Prior experience with Mine planning and scheduling software is preferred.
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $93,000-$127,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
