Millwright/Utility Repair Person
About the role
Carroll Concrete is part of CRH, a leading vertically integrated supplier of asphalt, aggregates, cement, ready-mix concrete, and paving and construction services in North America. As a millwright/utility repair person, you will be part of a team that provides top-quality, innovative products and services to customers.
Responsibilities
- General maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and machinery.
- Occasional overnight shifts and travel requiring overnight stays, as business needs arise.
- Maintain and repair machine guarding.
- Install, maintain, and repair various types of bin gate systems and turrets.
- Perform welding and fabricating tasks, including stick welding and some MIG work.
- Assist with training personnel in proper operation and maintenance around the plant.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules.
- Assist with troubleshooting basic electrical and plumbing issues and suggest repair courses of action.
- Travel between Ready Mix Concrete plants.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Willingness to work occasional overnight shifts and travel.
- Basic knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Understanding of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

Pay
$25.00 per hour, with potential for annual increases based on experience.
Schedule
Occasional overnight shifts and travel required.
