Huntsman is seeking a Millwright Technician supporting the Performance Products Division located in Freeport, TX. This position will report to the Engineering Manager.
About the Role
A Millwright Technician to perform routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of various pieces of rotating equipment including, but not limited to, pumps, cyclones, gear boxes, and agitators.
Responsibilities
- Work in full compliance with Huntsman approved safety regulations.
- Perform component installation, system maintenance, repair work, preventive maintenance, and service as required.
- Read blueprints, drawings, and access and use OEM manuals.
- Ensure all new rotating equipment projects are installed and commissioned properly as specified.
- Layout, drill, and level base plates.
- Communicate tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing and maintain effective work relations with those encountered during employment.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities.
- Review and act on vibration analysis reports.
- Plan rotating equipment repairs, including task generation, resource needs, duration, and materials.
- Work overtime, both scheduled and call-out, to respond and support site equipment needs.
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines and maintain awareness of safety risks.
- Participate in Permit to Work and LOTO procedures.
- Utilize SAP to order parts, materials, and update work orders.
- Apply mechanical aptitude in dealing with tools used by machinists/millwrights, including alignment, vibration, and precision tools.
- Use machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Six to ten years of Millwright experience.
- Completed Millwright Apprenticeship.
- NCCER+ (Knowledge Verification and Performance Verification) Industrial Millwright.
- Journeyman Millwright (72 months with 9,360 hours of work experience).
- Forklift certification required.
- Unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and pump curves.
- Ability to determine improvements and corrective actions concerning equipment repair and institutionalize them in written documents.
- Ability to create and update repair and maintenance procedures.
- Time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with Operators, Engineers, Plant Leadership, Maintenance, Materials, and other stakeholders.
- Good at adhering to strict safety guidelines and cognizant of safety risks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing instructions and organizational priorities.
- Mechanical aptitude in dealing with tools used by machinists/millwrights.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP experience.
- Crane and rigging certifications.
Working Environment
- Manufacturing plant environment.
- Use of machinery and equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.
- Scheduled and call-out overtime to support site equipment needs.
