ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
LeVanta is building the world’s first float-fly-float unmanned drone to transform defense and commercial maritime operations. Our team—composed of industry-leading engineers, former military operators, and subject-matter experts—is dedicated to creating disruptive UAV technology that provides a seamless sea-air interface, enabling drones to float indefinitely while minimizing energy consumption and take off on demand at high speeds. Based in Stennis, MS, LeVanta is at the forefront of drone innovation, addressing challenges in aerial endurance and rough sea conditions.
About the Role
The LeVanta Engineering Technician will play a key role in building and testing prototypes through extensive hands-on work. This position requires independence, creativity, and a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems. The dynamic, fast-paced startup environment demands immediate contributions, goal-driven execution, and a passion for product development.
Responsibilities
- Conduct engineering research, product and component design, and test and data analysis
- Fabricate prototype drone components, drones, and testing apparatus and support infrastructure
- Identify potential problems and propose solutions
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SolidWorks or other CAD software
- US Citizenship
- BS/AS degree, trade school certificate, or significant hands-on technical and engineering experience (preference for mechanical, ocean, aeronautical, computer science/engineering, or electrical engineering, or closely related fields)
- Candidates with strong trade discipline training and skill sets will also be considered

- Structural design and composites work
- 3-D printing
- Electrical wiring, harness, and assembly
- Drone software programming and/or flight and piloting
Pay
$25/hour
This is a full-time (40 hr/wk) position located at LeVanta’s facility in Stennis, MS, with minimal travel required. Reports to the CTO.
