Millwright / Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Dismantle equipment when required for repair or transportation and reassemble it at the appropriate time.
• Read, understand necessary blueprints and schematics.
• Comply with other requests from immediate supervisor.
• Proficient in the installation, maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting.
• Work with operations and maintenance on repairs to equipment including replacement of mechanical seals, installation and alignment of rotating equipment, repairs to fans and blowers, repairs to reciprocating, centrifugal and screw compressors and pumps, basic knowledge of rigging and flagging.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and write legibly.
• Preferably a 2‑year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or related field, or minimum of 2 years related experience.
• Mechanical/Industrial experience; relevant papermill experience may be considered in lieu of direct maintenance experience.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Self‑motivated, able to work well with others and independently.
• Able to work at a fast pace, stable under pressure, organized, while adhering to safety rules and regulations.
• Safety, quality, productivity and teamwork oriented.
• Willing and flexible to do overtime on short notice.
• Willing to participate in team work for procedures, health and safety work teams, and problem‑solving projects.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs; position involves lifting, bending, climbing steps, and standing for extended periods.
• Must have own tools.

Pay

Hourly wage of $22.00/hr – $30.00/hr (based on skills, experience and education).

Schedule

Full‑time position with guaranteed hours; day shift 4/10, weekdays (7:00 am – 5:30 pm). Must be available for mandatory on‑call rotation.
