Mechanic - Millwright
This role is hosted by Jobot on behalf of a leading agricultural food manufacturer with over a century of history. The organization operates multiple processing facilities and distribution centers across the Upper Midwest, supplying high-quality sugar products nationwide.
About the role
We are seeking experienced Mechanics/Millwrights passionate about technology and machinery. This position involves inspection, parts replacement, alignment, balancing, installation, refurbishment, and welding to optimize equipment performance in a modern industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair various types of equipment and machinery.
- Perform parts replacement, alignment, balancing, and installation tasks.
- Understand and apply the operating principles of equipment and its role in the process/factory.
- Optimize equipment performance based on its function and application.
- Perform joining and fabrication activities, including welding, cutting, brazing, and soldering.
- Weld carbon steel using the SMAW and GMAW processes.
- Weld stainless steel metals using the SMAW process.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a mechanic in the manufacturing industry or a related field.
- Proven experience in inspection, parts replacement, alignment, balancing, installation, and refurbishment.
- Comprehensive understanding of equipment operating principles and its role in the process/factory.
- Proficiency in optimizing equipment performance based on its function and application.
- Skilled in welding, cutting, brazing, and soldering, including carbon steel (SMAW/GMAW) and stainless steel (SMAW).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications are an added advantage.
