Shifts available: 1st Shift (7:30 am – 3:30 pm), 2nd Shift (3:30 pm – 11:30 pm), or 3rd Shift (11:30 pm – 7:30 am).

About the Role

Install, move, reconstruct, repair, and rebuild machines and major site equipment requiring planning and improvisation of methods. This includes day-to-day repair, modification, and/or replacement of Test Loops. Perform preventive maintenance (PM) work including laser alignment. Repair or fabricate machine parts as required.

Use a variety of tools and equipment, including mechanic’s hand tools, portable power tools, material handling equipment, pneumatic winches, hammer drills, large power hoists, ladders, scaffolds, cable slings, precision levels, laser transit, monitoring equipment (instrumentation, pressure gauges), and department communication devices. Operate a lathe, milling machine, and other required machinist equipment.

Work with all types of machine tools, such as conventional equipment, numerical-controlled equipment, boilers, pumps, and all types of raw materials (e.g., structural steel, bar and flat stock, soldering, and other metal joining materials).

Requirements

  • High school graduate plus completion of a four-year Mechanic Millwright Apprenticeship or a two-year Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology.
  • Four years’ experience working in the Mechanic Millwright repair field.
  • Prior machining experience (e.g., lathe, milling machine, boring mill).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to DoD requirements and able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.
