We are looking for a Millwright Journeyman for a regular full-time, non-exempt position at our Mitsubishi site in Greer, SC. This role does not require travel or per diem.
Schedule
Employees normally work Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
- Installs machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in an industrial environment, using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
- Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Dismantles machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
- Moves machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
- Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, using hand tools and power tools, and fastens them to foundation or other structure.
- Fabricates support frames and brackets from steel and other materials.
- Aligns machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
- May operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
- May repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
- Participates in daily toolbox discussions/meetings.
- Performs basic rigging tasks safely.
- Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities.
- Maintains tools and equipment.
- Conducts process inspection, certification, and documentation.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in millwright processes and equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency.
- Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work.
- Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and quality.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service, communication (both listening and speaking), and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with minimal direct supervision, relying on instructions and pre-established guidelines.
- Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s).
Preferred Qualifications
- More than five years of experience in millwright processes and equipment.
