About the role

Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is seeking experienced Millwright Foremen to join their team in Knoxville. Industrial experience is essential for success in this role. The schedule will vary based on plant downtimes.

Responsibilities

• Work safely no matter what
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings for construction machines
• Rigging, moving, and setting equipment, such as HVAC units, using cranes and helicopters
• General maintenance on industrial equipment
• Demolition as needed
• Take accurate measurements using precision tools
• Drilling, welding, bolting, and other duties as required
• Conduct toolbox talks and assign tasks for the day
• Submit timecards for crew members
• Cook with owners or general contractors to complete jobs on time and within budget

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Millwright or similar position
• Leadership experience preferred
• Ability to keep a drug-free workplace
• Punctuality and reliability
• Teamwork skills
• Physical ability to stand and walk throughout the workday, lift/carry up to 60 lbs, work in extreme conditions, and perform tasks requiring motor control, vision, and hand-eye coordination
Qualifications
• Must be able to pass a background check

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of safety protocols
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Good communication and leadership skills
