About the role
We are seeking skilled Millwright to join our talented workforce. This role requires a variety of skills to be used daily. This crucial position in our Facilities and maintenance group is essential for adjusting quickly to changing assignments and completing a wide range of tasks.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes mechanical knowledge to assist with rigging, and erecting building structures and manufacturing equipment.
- Determines proper, safe methods of dismantling machines to gain access to suspected failed components or faulty parts, and dismantles and removes parts by using a variety of mechanic's hand tools and safe rigging techniques.
- Affixes replacement parts from facilities engineering, OEM, and/or supervisors. If a particular part lacks clear engineering definition, the Millwright shall be capable of creating dimensioned sketches that allow reverse engineering and fabrication of the components.
- Uses basic construction measurement tools to estimate material requirements and ensure rigging/furniture/equipment moves can be done with proper clearance. Checks work by use of precision measuring instruments including but not limited to leveling tools, overhead scales, and/or digital measuring devices.
- Maintains the facility by providing and assisting with continuous improvement events, cleaning, painting, building, organizing, erecting storage cages, installing doors, windows, walls, floors, all while focusing on safe work habits and 5S.
- Assists other trades with removing machine guarding and obstructions to allow preventive and reactive maintenance tasks to be completed.
- Studies blueprints, sketches, specifications, and bill of materials in order to plan the sequence of operations when erecting and fabricating components used for storage of plating solutions, and sodium nitrate tanks, cranes, hoists, metal stairways, steel balconies, heavy gauge steel racks, partitions, steel work platforms, steel beams used in floor support, etc. Ability to install wall fittings, brackets, etc., which can be used for the attachment of heavy equipment or machinery.
- Assists with other maintenance duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Requires the ability to understand and use mechanical concepts and principles, understand and utilize construction and rigging mathematics, and the understanding and use of a wide variety hand tools.
- Must use appropriate PPE. Demonstrate a commitment to following safe procedures and adhering to safe repair practices.
- Experience with diagnostics and repair of building structures. Ability to interpret technical manuals, mechanical drawings, and assembly instructions.
- A willingness and ability to instruct and assist less experienced mechanics.
- A physically demanding role with exposure to loud noises, potential hazards, and often dirty environments, requiring the use of protective gear, frequent standing, lifting heavy parts, and working in tight spaces. Frequent physical effort is required to operate equipment, load and unload trucks and trailers, position trailers, etc.
- Safely operates fork lifts, JLG lifts. Will be required to maintain certifications.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of related work experience. With the following skill set: rigging, carpentry, blueprint reading, fabricating, sheet rock, drop ceilings, and industrial painting.
Skills
- Welding experience.
- Experience with repair of cranes and/or roll up doors.
- Experience with Vacuum and High Pressure Air systems.
- Mechanical ability to diagnose issues and repair roll-up doors.

Pay
$38.00 per hour + shift differential. ST Engineering considers several factors with extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, education/training/certification, job level, and work location. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
Schedule
This role has a high probability of requiring off-shift schedule.
