As a Millwright, you'll play a key role in moving, installing, aligning, and maintaining heavy equipment and machinery while working alongside experienced professionals on some of the industry's most demanding projects. Responsibilities
- Move equipment and machinery using proper and safe rigging and lifting practices.
- Align, level, and anchor cranes and other equipment.
- Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoists, and pulling gear.
- Connect pulleys and blocks to overhead structures using bolts, shackles, and clamps.
- Clean and prepare machines and component surfaces for installation and operation.
- Control the movement of heavy equipment through confined spaces and restricted areas.
- Dismantle, maintain, and properly store rigging equipment.
- Manipulate rigging lines and hoists to move or support materials, steel, and concrete.
- Select appropriate gear, cables, and shackles based on load requirements and job conditions.
- Signal and direct personnel involved in lifting and hoisting operations to ensure safe execution.
- Inspect and test rigging systems to verify safety and reliability before lifting operations begin.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of mathematics, measurements, weights, and load balance principles.
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Flexibility to travel, work overtime, and adjust schedules as needed.
- Ability to pass a drug test and fit-for-duty assessment.
Qualifications
- Experience in rigging, construction, farmhand, or heavy equipment preferred.
- Ability to work day/night shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for field work.
Skills
