Join our team at our Sawmill in Camden, SC as a Millwright and apply your expertise to maintain industrial production machinery in a safety-focused and sustainable environment. This is a permanent, full-time position on our 1st shift with a rotational schedule that may include weekend work.
Responsibilities
- Work with a high-performance team to maintain all mill machinery, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance to keep systems running smoothly, including inspecting machinery to detect and investigate irregularities.
- Troubleshoot issues, enhance equipment reliability, and implement safe, effective fixes to maximize production uptime.
- Demonstrate attention to detail by identifying and requesting necessary parts to complete repairs promptly.
- Contribute to a safe work environment through accountability and adherence to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Superior troubleshooting skills and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment (lumber manufacturing knowledge is an asset).
- Basic electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair machinery components.
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems on heavy manufacturing machinery.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to schedule and document maintenance activities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance professionals, operations, production staff, and supervisors.
- High degree of urgency and teamwork orientation.
