About the role
Join EXALTA Group and help manufacture high-precision components used in the medical device industry. We are seeking an experienced Milling Setup Operator who enjoys working in a fast-paced machining environment and takes pride in producing quality parts with precision and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce parts to print specifications
- Perform tooling changes, offsets, machine adjustments, and basic program edits
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and job travelers
- Work with standard and metric measurements and tight tolerances
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
- Inspect in-process and finished parts using precision measuring equipment
- Read and interpret CMM reports to verify part quality
- Complete setup sheets, first-piece inspections, ERP transactions, and production documentation
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to troubleshoot issues and improve processes
- Meet established safety, quality, and production goals
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of CNC milling setup experience
- Experience in a job shop environment preferred
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
- Solid understanding and application of GD&T
- Experience working with both standard and metric measurements
- Working knowledge of G-code programming and editing
- Experience using Renishaw probes to locate X, Y, and Z coordinates and establish part zeros
- Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and CMMs
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience in an ISO 13485 and/or FDA-regulated manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Ability to work in a temperature-controlled manufacturing facility
- Exposure to machinery, coolants, lubricants, and moving mechanical parts
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and repetitive motion
- Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours per shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
