Milling Machinist

Rate of pay: $30–$34/hour depending on experience, plus quarterly bonus based on company goals. Shift differential: +$2.50/hour.

Schedule

2nd shift: 1:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Heidenhain milling center to produce parts within specifications from blueprints.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records and maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Use basic keyboard and monitor to enter work-order data and correct quantities in the mainframe computer.
  • Hold very close tolerances and surface-finish requirements.
  • Demonstrate conscientious work behaviors including work ethic, safety, quality, cost control, and on-time delivery (OTD).

Requirements

  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Perform arithmetic operations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all machine tools in your area of responsibility.
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and use basic math skills.
  • Work accurately with precision measuring instruments (micrometer, depth micrometer, dial indicators, CMM, calipers, gauges).
  • Demonstrated history of good attendance and a safe work record.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience running a Heidenhain milling center.
  • Computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with stainless steel or duplex stainless steel.

Skills

  • Exceptional teamwork and strong communication abilities.
  • Working knowledge or ability to learn precision measuring tools.
