Mill Utility

About the role

Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot milling/process equipment.

Perform milling processes.

Responsibilities

• Clean all areas of the mill.
• Provide process system support, including learning the Assistant Miller role and performing processing positions and equipment operation.
• Execute all required HACCP food safety processes and documentation.
• Calibrate processing systems daily to meet required specifications.
• Participate in startup, changeover, and shut down of operating equipment.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
• Absorb and assist in training new employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in mechanical and/or technical fields in a manufacturing or related industry.
• Experience in warehouse operations and using WMS (preferably SAP, Blue Yonder).
• Basic computer skills, including interaction with digital systems used in daily tasks.
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environments.
• Ability to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery.
• Willingness to work around allergens that might be present in a food environment.

Pay

$24.52 per hour.

Additional $.50 per hour for hours worked on 2nd shift and 3rd shift.

Schedule

• 8-hour shifts.
• 2nd shift: 3 pm to 11 pm.
• 3rd shift: 11 pm to 7 am.

Location

At our Avon Mill, we produce 50 lb. bags of flour that are distributed to restaurants, cruise ships, hotels, schools, as well as Betty Crocker dry mix pouches. Our plant is unique in that we have two product platforms: flour and dry mixes. The flour we produce is integrated into our Betty Crocker mixes. We are a small plant with a great culture where you will get to know the people you work with.

Fun facts about Avon are that we produce an average of 1.1 millions pounds of flour a day and about 100 million Betty Crocker pouches a year. When making our chocolate chip cookie mix, around 2000 lbs of chocolate is added per hour to the packaging line!
