About the role
The successful candidate will operate and adjust pellet mills and dryers, ensuring compliance with regulatory specifications. They will also troubleshoot equipment issues and maintain accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Operate and adjust pellet mills, and monitor dryer inlet and outlet temperatures.
- Regulate material mix to achieve optimal pellet moisture and density ratios, ensuring pellets stay within specified moisture limits.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, spot fires, and hot bearings.
- Maintain pellet mill feed rates and adjust or change pellet mill rolls/dies as necessary.
- Complete a daily report detailing temperature readings, dried material moisture, and perform density checks per specifications.
- Estimate tonnage based on daily operations.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- One to two years of production experience in an industrial setting.
- Working knowledge of production processes and controls.
- Ability to pass forklift certification.
- Physical requirements: lift up to 80 lbs, stand for up to 12 hours per day, use catwalks and climb ladders up to 60 feet high.
- Skills: mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, simple math calculations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred, one to two years production experience in an industrial setting, and working knowledge of production processes and controls.
