Military Technical Writer | $80/hr Remote

Position: Senior DoD Staff Writing SMEType: ContractCompensation: $40 - $80/hourLocation: RemoteCommitment: 10-40 hrs/week Role ResponsibilitiesDevelop and provide well-structured prompts, input artifacts, and golden responses for DoD staff writing tasks.Create grading guidelines to evaluate AI-generated outputs, ensuring alignment with DoD standards.Produce authentic report artifacts reflecting real-world DoD documentation style and language.Contribute to the design and review of test materials evaluating AI capabilities in summarizing and reporting.Engage in feedback cycles to refine prompts, responses, and grading rubrics based on project needs. RequirementsHave strong relevant experience as a former federal contributor for the U.S. Department of Defense.Experience producing key reporting artifacts such as WARs, SITREPs, and executive summaries.Background in one of the six branches of the U.S. military with diverse experience across roles and units.Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication with attention to detail.Familiarity with back-office tools and processes, including PowerPoint, memos, and Excel summaries.
