About the role
Position: Senior DoD Staff Writing SME
Type: Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week
Responsibilities
- Develop and provide well-structured prompts, input artifacts, and golden responses for DoD staff writing tasks.
- Create grading guidelines to evaluate AI-generated outputs, ensuring alignment with DoD standards.
- Produce authentic report artifacts reflecting real-world DoD documentation style and language.
- Contribute to the design and review of test materials evaluating AI capabilities in summarizing and reporting.
- Engage in feedback cycles to refine prompts, responses, and grading rubrics based on project needs.
Requirements
- Have strong relevant experience as a former federal contributor for the U.S. Department of Defense.
- Experience producing key reporting artifacts such as WARs, SITREPs, and executive summaries.
- Background in one of the six branches of the U.S. military with diverse experience across roles and units.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with back-office tools and processes, including PowerPoint, memos, and Excel summaries.
Pay
Compensation: $40 - $80/hour
