JOB DUTIES
- Perform substantive and procedural legal work to support attorneys and staff.
- Aid attorneys and investigators in preparing for hearings, legal discussions, briefings, and meetings on various legal matters.
- Conduct and assist in factual and legal research for each investigation.
- Draft legal documents such as correspondence, complaints, and legal briefs.
- Schedule interviews, hearings, witnesses, depositions, and other related discussions.
- Investigate claims or potential cases. Review facts and interview witnesses.
- Perform court reporting and/or other paralegal support duties during trials.
- Other paralegal duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance. (If you currently have a Secret level clearance, we are open to sponsoring an upgraded clearance.)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal in a military and/or JAG environment. (Due to the strict requirements of the position, we cannot consider applicants without this experience. Please make sure this experience is clear on your resume.)
- Must be willing to travel for up to 3 weeks at a time to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
- Must be a fast typist and willing to do court reporting and transcription work.
- Must exhibit a high level of discretion and personal decorum.
- Ability to conduct factual and legal research.
- Knowledge of Paralegal Methods, Practices, and Procedures.
- Proficient in litigation discovery software and MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
