Military Fellowship Program: Supply Chain Manager
About the role
The SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities for service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. Fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of buyers, subcontract management specialists, and category leads to define, develop, and improve the supply base and ensure its support to SNC programs.
- Establish priorities to maintain production schedules and meet program milestones and delivery requirements, coordinating with executive management, program management, and other department managers.
- Prepare capital, contract equipment, and facility requests based on program and company demands.
- Drive supply chain innovation and efficiency by partnering with departments to support the company's vision.
- Function as a supply chain liaison within the business, collaborating with Operations, planning, and logistics groups.
- Maximize procurement management system capabilities and seek out new advancements in technology and processes.
- Drive the supply chain discovery process, implement, and deploy complex projects.
- Ensure meaningful supply chain KPIs are set, measured, and communicated across the organization to drive visibility on goals, and provide leadership to direct reports, including responsibility for departmental performance.
Qualifications
- Currently serving as active duty military and eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study, or higher education may substitute for relevant experience.
- Typically 6+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including 0-2+ years of management experience.
- Proficient in negotiations and supply chain management.
- Prioritize development and production experience.
- In-depth knowledge of commodity, category, and sourcing management.
- Experience with manufacturing timelines and requirements.
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance.
Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) Business Area
The MST team supports the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial, and international customers with a legacy of platform operations, engineering, and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space, and cyber.
