Military Fellowship Program: Program Quality Engineer
About the role
SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality assurance processes and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Lead inspections and audits of manufacturing processes and products to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze quality data to identify trends and generate reports that highlight areas for improvement.
- Lead and participate in customer and regulatory audits, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, to resolve quality issues and support project goals.
- Train and mentor junior quality engineers and quality inspectors on quality processes and best practices.
- Manage non-conformance reports and coordinate with relevant teams for disposition activities.
- Support supplier quality management activities, including supplier audits and assessments.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
Qualifications
- You Must Have:
- Currently serving as ACTIVE DUTY military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience (or 1+ with a related Master’s degree) in a quality engineering role within the aerospace and defense industry
- Qualifications We Prefer:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field
- Black Belt Certification in Six Sigma
- Experience with statistical analysis and quality tools
- Familiarity with supplier quality management practices
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to the aerospace and defense industry
Essential Functions
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Requirement to be on feet for a significant portion of the work shift.
- Majority of work hours spent on a computer.
- Hand/finger dexterity for using testing and inspection tools.
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
- Occasional travel may be required for audits and supplier visits.
Pay
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $82,039.23 - $112,803.95. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
