Program Quality Engineer
About the role
BAE Systems is seeking a Program Quality Engineer to join our team. This role involves collaborating across functions to ensure programs are executed with high quality, meeting customer satisfaction, and identifying and addressing quality risks.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive program quality plans aligned with customer & internal requirements.
- Coordinate necessary quality expertise and collaborate with other functions on APQP planning.
- Support lifecycle management, phase gate, and program management reviews to ensure product quality.
- Oversee product sell off, host customer source inspections and audits, and manage customer quality related issues and concerns.
- Influence bids and ensure requirements flow down to all levels (design, suppliers, factories).
- Lead nonconformance management, oversee Material Alert investigations, and chair Material Review Boards.
- Drive robust Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and minimize program/customer impact.
- Identify and communicate quality risks, ensure robust mitigation strategies are in place, and leverage product issue data for DFMEA/PFMEA updates.
- Develop supplier quality clausing plans and review and approve subcontract management plans and statements of work.
- Ensure compliance with BAE programmatic processes and organize, support, and/or execute ISO 9001/AS9100/IATF audits and CMMI assessments.
- Manage and report key quality metrics and partner with programs and other functions to drive improvements in overall program and business performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field of study or 8-10+ years of engineering experience in lieu of degree.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g. AS9100/ISO 9001, CMMI, AS13100, AS9102, AS9145, IATF).
- Experienced with root cause corrective action (RCCA) and strong problem-solving and risk management skills.
- Familiarity with lifecycle management (LCM) process and project management.
- Customer skills including ability to develop solid, working customer relationships with credibility.
- Business acumen, leadership, and cross-functional influence.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- ASQ advanced certifications.
- Experienced with quality tools and methodologies (e.g. 8D and Lean Six Sigma).
- Experience with AS13100, AS9145 APQP.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $96623 - $164259
