Milieu Counselor - Pediatric Psychiatric Development - Full Time

About the Role

A Milieu Counselor in a Child and Adolescent Neurodevelopment inpatient unit, working under RN supervision to provide a safe, structured environment and support patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, structured environment under RN supervision
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Lead or co-lead patient groups
• Perform safety checks
• Conduct 1:1 patient meetings
• Monitor vital signs, intake, and output
• Document accurately
• Support patients' nutritional and hydration needs
• Respond to crises and individual needs
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
• Maintain patient safety
• Accurately chart health metrics
• Support patient well-being and crisis management

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• B.A., B.S., or M.A. preferred or equivalent human service experience
• Current BLS certification
• Prior experience in human services, behavioral health, or inpatient psychiatry preferred
• Ability to perform physical tasks and follow protocols
