MIG Welder/Fabricator
We're hiring a shop-based MIG Welder to assist with the fabrication of custom, skid-mounted pump packages for industrial, sanitary, mining, and municipal water/wastewater applications. This role focuses on layout, fit-up, and MIG welding of structural and mechanical components. No field installation, alignment, or machinery teardown work is required.
Responsibilities
- Fabricates bases and mounts the pump, motor, and drives to those bases
- Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on carbon steel and related materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and schematics
- Use shop tools such as saws, grinders, drills, and measuring equipment
- Layout, fit, and assemble frames, skids, supports, piping components, and brackets
- Verify dimensions and fit-up prior to welding
- Produce welds that meet visual and dimensional requirements
- Maintain and service welding equipment
- Keep work area safe and clean and adhere to Company safety rules and policies
- Follow shop safety procedures and welding best practices
- Communicate with supervisors or engineering when drawings or fit-up issues arise
- Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3-5 years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification in welding preferred.
Qualifications
- Hands-on MIG welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with basic fabrication, layout, and fit-up
- Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified MIG welder (AWS or equivalent)
- Experience fabricating industrial skids, pump packages, or custom assemblies
- Exposure to TIG or stick welding
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
