Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding using .035 wire on 14 Ga, 16 Ga, and 12 Ga red and galvanized steel materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding symbols.
- Set up welding equipment, including voltage, wire feed speed, and gas flow for optimal results on thin material.
- Inspect welds to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications.
- Grind, clean, and prep metal as needed to ensure strong weld joints.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all company safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in MIG welding, especially on light gauge steel.
- Ability to work with galvanized materials without compromising weld quality.
- Familiarity with .035 wire setup and thin material welding techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; welding certification is a plus.
- Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- AWS certification (optional but preferred).
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
