MIG Welder

About the role

The Full-time MIG Welder position is located in Easley, SC. This role is full-time and entry-level. The position starts at $19.50/hour, with potential increases based on performance evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld and size of molten puddle.
• Assist other departments as required/directed.
• May act as line leader, setting up lines, and checking weld quality of co-workers as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to perform simple shop math and convert decimals to fractional equivalents.
• Read a calibrated tape measure.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to read and interpret documents finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.

Qualifications

• 6 months required in welding.
• 3 years preferred in welding, reading blueprints, and checking weld quality.

Skills

Must be able to perform a variety of welding functions and be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment. Must be responsible for maintaining quality and reporting accurate quantities to the JobBoss process.

Pay

This position starts at $19.50/hour, with the potential for increases based on performance evaluations:

• 30-Day Review – Potential increase of up to $.50/hour
• 60-Day Review – Potential increase of up to $.50/hour
• 90-Day Review – Potential increase of up to $1.50/hour
