About the role
This position serves our partners at the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) within the Department of Public Safety (DPS). MNIT BCA provides comprehensive IT operations and support services, custom application development, and dedicated business-specific support functions for investigative and specialized law enforcement services.
Responsibilities
- Support an agency that partners with law enforcement, public safety, and criminal justice agencies to prevent and solve crimes.
- Plan, implement, and support enterprise middleware infrastructure and identity management solutions that enable secure, reliable statewide criminal justice systems.
- Administer technologies such as application servers, messaging platforms, single sign-on, public key infrastructure, and Splunk, ensuring system performance, security, availability, and integration across complex enterprise environments.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of IT related experience working with Middleware Information Systems.
- Knowledge of architecture, engineering, and operations of at least one enterprise Middleware platform (e.g., Oracle Service Bus, IBM MQ Enterprise, Splunk).
- Experience with TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth, and common security elements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to translate application systems logging and data requirements into meaningful and useable data for pattern analysis and Middleware software solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding.
Qualifications

- Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master’s degree for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor’s degree for one (1) year; and an associate’s degree for six (6) months.
Skills
- Expert level in developing and maintaining middleware message brokering between distributed enterprise applications (e.g., Oracle Service Bus, IBM MQ Enterprise, Splunk).
- Expert level in Oracle/Sun Identity and Access Management (IdAM) infrastructure.
- Expert level Ansible system automation.
