Middle School Spanish Teacher - 26/27 School Year

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate solid prerequisite knowledge and content pedagogy.
• Demonstrate knowledge of students' developmental learning, skills, abilities, special medical or learning needs, and cultural heritage.
• Set instructional outcomes aligned to Minnesota State (or specified) Standards and Benchmarks with clear learning goals.
• Create coherent instruction for rigor, support of learning targets, and differentiation.
• Use data to inform planning and instruction.

Essential Classroom Environment

• Establish an environment reflecting respect and rapport with genuine warmth and care.
• Encourage students to take learning risks to develop intellectually.
• Implement and support the school's PBIS program.
• Plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals and volunteers in the classroom.

Essential Instructional Responsibilities

• Provide standards-aligned differentiated instruction to meet all students' needs.
• Teach approved Core Knowledge curriculum.
• Communicate clear purpose, directions, procedures, and explanations with students.
• Engage students actively in the learning process.
• Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to student learning.

Essential Professional Responsibilities

• Reflect on teaching and accurately assess a lesson's effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate student records on learning progress; regularly update grades in Infinite Campus.
• Regularly communicate with families regarding instructional programs and student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to reflect on effective teaching practices and work to continually improve skills.
• Participate in continuing education courses, professional activities, and/or organizations.
• Be willing to be observed on a regular basis and welcome feedback and coaching from colleagues and administration.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with the DaVinci Academy community.
• Show professionalism through honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and assurance that all students are fairly served.
• Participate in team or departmental decision-making.
• Comply with school regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota Teaching License, preferred Tier 3 or Tier 4, in relevant field.
• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience using Google Classroom.
• Curriculum planning/alignment and instructional experience.
• Experience with differentiation.
• Willingness to identify, interpret and follow school policies and procedures.

Position Information

• Salary Range: $42,024 to $79,568.00 for the 2026-2027 academic year.
• Salary offers will consider the candidate's experience, education, skills, and DaVinci Academy's budget.
• Experienced candidates should expect a salary offer around the midpoint of the salary range.
• In exceptional cases, salaries exceeding the midpoint may be offered to attract candidates for hard-to-fill positions or those with specialized skills.
• The start date is August 10, 2026.
