About the role

The Summit Preparatory School of Southwest Missouri is seeking an educator for the 2026-2027 academic year. The position is for Middle School Science/STEM Faculty (Grades 6–8) and is part-time.

Responsibilities

• Support and advance existing philosophy through project-based learning, differentiated instruction, and ongoing curriculum development.
• Instruct courses that include core sciences and elective options.
• Create an inquiry-based instructional approach and establish a student-centered environment.
• Integrate technology effectively into the classroom.
• Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Collaborate well with colleagues to promote an integrated educational experience.
• Solve problems creatively and model a growth mindset.

Requirements

• Demonstrated commitment to progressive pedagogy.
• Experience in curriculum design and development.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Teacher certification (preferred).
• Minimum 2+ years experience in classroom or in academic field (preferred).

• Ability to integrate technology effectively.
• Experience in creating an inquiry-based instructional approach.
• Experience in establishing a student-centered environment.

Benefits

The Summit offers a regionally competitive salary in a collaborative and engaging teaching community. Initial one-year contract with the possibility to extend, including the possibility of full-time in the future.
