Middle School Parent Coordinator (PA II)

Position Overview

Position Overview: Increase parent involvement in the school by working closely with all school, parent, HCZ, and community organizationsCreate a welcoming school environment for parentsServe as facilitator for parent and school community concernsConvene regular parent meetings and events around topics of key concern for parentsAssist in the recruitment and enrollment processCreate periodic newsletters/calendars and coordinate communication with parentsOrganize Back-to-School, Report Card Night, and other parent eventsCoordinate parent workshops and seek opportunities for parents to further develop skillsCoordinate field tripsPerform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred or related work experience
• At least 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in an urban school setting
• Ability to think critically and strategically
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
• Understanding of the Harlem community a plus
• Ability to work some evening and weekend hours

Pay

The salary range for this position is $45,000-$50,000 per year.
