Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Middle School Math Intervention Teacher supports GLLA’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) using the Response to Intervention Framework (RTI). Key responsibilities include:
- Utilizing performance, survey, and observation data to identify and group students needing additional support.
- Aiding teachers in developing and implementing classroom-based interventions.
- Supporting teachers in documenting student progress.
- Facilitating the Student Support Team (SST) process.
- Designing and using instructional and behavioral support tools.
- Gathering and organizing universal assessment tools for progress monitoring.
- Implementing and tracking Tier 3 support, refining strategies as needed.
- Facilitating data-driven conferences with teachers during Professional Learning Community meetings.
- Assisting with school improvement plans, IDEA and Section 504 activities, and report preparation.
- Maintaining a safe and orderly classroom environment.
- Administering and analyzing standardized testing data.
- Communicating effectively with parents and students.
- Participating in professional development and attending in-person events.
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certification in the required subject matter and grade band.
- A minimum of 5 years full-time successful teaching experience in the required subject matter and grade band.
- Michigan residency preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- A customer-focused approach.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Technologically proficient (especially with Microsoft Office products).
- Ability to work some evenings and overnight travel.
