Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Middle School Math Intervention Teacher supports GLLA’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) using the Response to Intervention Framework (RTI). Key responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing performance, survey, and observation data to identify and group students needing additional support.
  • Aiding teachers in developing and implementing classroom-based interventions.
  • Supporting teachers in documenting student progress.
  • Facilitating the Student Support Team (SST) process.
  • Designing and using instructional and behavioral support tools.
  • Gathering and organizing universal assessment tools for progress monitoring.
  • Implementing and tracking Tier 3 support, refining strategies as needed.
  • Facilitating data-driven conferences with teachers during Professional Learning Community meetings.
  • Assisting with school improvement plans, IDEA and Section 504 activities, and report preparation.
  • Maintaining a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  • Administering and analyzing standardized testing data.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and students.
  • Participating in professional development and attending in-person events.

Qualifications

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certification in the required subject matter and grade band.
  • A minimum of 5 years full-time successful teaching experience in the required subject matter and grade band.
  • Michigan residency preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A customer-focused approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technologically proficient (especially with Microsoft Office products).
  • Ability to work some evenings and overnight travel.
