Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Middle School Math Intervention Teacher supports GLLA’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) using the Response to Intervention Framework (RTI). Key responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing performance, survey, and observation data to identify and group students needing additional support.
  • Aiding teachers in developing and implementing classroom-based interventions.
  • Facilitating the Student Support Team (SST) process.
  • Designing and using instructional and behavioral support tools.
  • Gathering and organizing universal assessment tools for progress monitoring.
  • Implementing and tracking Tier 3 support, refining strategies as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate records and administering standardized testing data.
  • Communicating with parents and students, and participating in professional development.

Qualifications

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certification in the required subject matter and grade band.
  • Minimum of 5 years full-time successful teaching experience in the required subject matter and grade band.
  • Michigan residency preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technologically proficient (especially with Microsoft Office products).
